Even after a characteristically fast-paced bike ride and three walks, Charlie had one of those night owl nights, still awake with 2am approaching.
Unlike the days of the stomach ailment, Charlie was in good spirits. The three walks were (especially the latter two) runs for the most part. I think Charlie joys in the heady rush and release of energy of running very fast in the clear cold air.
We didn't run quite as much on the last stage of the walk, across a field that was a patchwork of pond-like puddles and sticky, sloshy mud. Lit up by a crescent moon and the glow of the lights from New York City to the east, Charlie slogged on, breaking into a run when our house came into view and getting some (though not all) of the mud off his shoes in the process.

Charlie has spring fever! Does his school use IPads?

@Linda,
Charlie doesn't use his iPad at school. For the moment, it seems better this way -- the school has had concerns about liabilities for breakage etc.. Plus, if Charlie were to bring his iPad to school, I can see him wanting to use it on the bus and that could be overstimulating -- one day, it would be good for him to have an iPad-like device but it seems good to have some 'iPad-less time' for the nonce.

Kristina, school system locally (city not suburb) this year purchased 400 IPads specifically for Special Ed. classes realizing the benefit of numerous programs IPad has for individual instruction for students also high motivation and immediate feedback. Outcomes are being tracked with early favorable results.
Wondering if Charlie's school has IPad instruction on horizon.
Did not mean Charlie should bring his to school! Thanks. Linda

@Linda, Wow, that's great!
No word (yet) about Charlie's school implementing such a program. I do think it would be different if there was an iPad at school (that didn't go back and forth with him on the bus) only.
