Sunday was pleasant. Everyone got a full night's sleep, Charlie waited around good-naturedly to bring some yard stuff to the town dump, there were two mom 'n' boy walks at a decent (not break neck) pace, there were two bike rides (local and, Charlie leading the way, Liberty State Park to Bayonne).
Then there was an adamant statement of 'NO SCHOOL' in the evening, which explained Charlie's morning drinking of about ten Capri Suns, a longtime lunchbox staple. After the 'NO SCHOOL' utterance. Charlie proceeded to drink a dozen more juices. One box remained and, as our suggestions that he'd had enough were met with with stern 'bye byes,' Charlie started to drink more, only to vomit everything up. I cut open the rest of the juice packs and Charlie handed me the cardboard box to recycle.
Such is the force of routine.
Until he went to bed at 10 pm, Charlie kept his eyes on my every move, especially when I went near the kitchen. He would not let me put the lunchboxes in the refrigerator and hovered nervously as i wrote in his communication book (sometimes I do this at the last minute in the morning but given Charlie's utterances and actionsI thought I'd best write it all down for his teacher).
Jim opined that the 'say little and make no undo fuss' approach was best, hence our going along with Charlie and the juice business and leaving the lunchboxes on the table. We shall see what occurs when the school bus appears in the morning.
We're thinking, this is lag after everything last week and Charlie fearing that unless he keeps his parents in sight, they'll disappear?
