Five great days at school! With one anxiety bout at 1pm on Wednesday that was readily worked through.
Thursday's late sleep, and possibly all the effort funneled into good days including waiting for two days in a row for Jim to return late from work, and yet another Halloween weather event (a hurricane) due to hit early next week, and thymic distress, and Charlie was scarfing down two half-red-colored boxes of crackers on Friday night, demanding more after going up to bed, probably distempered that I had given him only a few, and directing his head to the wall.
Yes, the wall is a ruin but the more that crumbles out of it, the more I reflect that what had seemed catastrophic is now a matter of vacuuming and fixing.
Charlie actually stayed on his bed -- he really must have been tired -- and elicited a combination of singing-alonging about Irish rovers with Jim, smiling, crying, wild-eyeness, and then slept till 9am Saturday morning and got a very nice Saturday shave at the barber while Jim did some business emails sitting across from the row of barber chairs.
I kept the November 1 deadline in mind for a proposal I'm working through about all this Ancient Greek poetry that is swimming in my head and the fragmentary utterances of Charlie, and did the vacuuming.
