It sounds like you have very quickly settled in - Bravo!

One thing that comes to mind about a respite worker who can ride a bike - if you can find someone who has a connection with Charlie and genuinely enojoys his company, everything beyond that is gravy. I notice that the things that Rufus must do with me are optional, or even wrong to do with his IIS (intensive individual suport) worker. On the other hand, there are things he will do with the IIS that won't happen with me or my husband. Movies, crowded fairs, roller skating - these are things Rufus will only do with his IIS.

This spring, if it ever gets warm, I'm going to get Rufus out on our tandem. He used to be pulled in a trailer behind - obviously it's been a while since I've used it. Your pictures will certainly give me the inspiration this year.

Biking in SF is no casual feat. Hell, walking in SF can be challenge. He MUST be good.

What an interesting challenge! I'm glad that he likes riding bikes so much. :-) And I hope you find a respite worker who enjoys it just as much.
